Ferry Terms and Conditions

General Information

The service is operated by Traghetti.com of F.&F. Srl, acting as an agent of the Ferry Companies, and is provided solely as an intermediary between the Customer and the aforementioned Companies.

The following Terms and Conditions apply to all our booking services provided through the website, by e-mail or by telephone.

Should the Customer not wish to accept, in whole or in part, the Terms and Conditions of Traghetti.com, they will not be able to use our services.

Submitting a booking request implies that the Customer has read and accepted the Rules and the Conditions of sale and carriage of the selected Ferry Company as well.

1. Booking

1.1. A booking may be requested at any time online or by telephone during the hours indicated on the website. Submitting a booking request does not imply the automatic allocation of a place. The request will be processed as quickly as possible, subject to the opening hours of our offices. Once payment has been made, and after price and availability have been verified, the ticket will be issued. Should the quote provided no longer be available, our operators will propose an alternative through a new quote, which the customer may accept or refuse. If it is not accepted, any amount already paid will be refunded without deductions.

1.2. Booking requests with same-day departure can only be accepted if payment is made by the Customer by credit/debit card or PayPal.

1.3. The booking system allows any errors to be corrected before the request is submitted. Please therefore check that the data provided is accurate, as the Customer is solely responsible for the correctness of the data entered (routes, requested dates and times; number, age, names and details of passengers; type of accommodation; type, dimensions and licence plate of accompanying vehicles; pets; e-mail address; telephone number, etc.).

1.4. Tickets must be checked by the Customer upon receipt. Any inaccuracies or errors must be reported to Traghetti.com by e-mail as a matter of urgency.

1.5. Tickets received as e-tickets by e-mail, WhatsApp and/or SMS must be presented at boarding for the standard check-in procedures. Anyone presenting themselves partially or completely without travel documentation will be required, directly by the Ferry Company, to purchase the ticket again.

PLEASE NOTE: ANY PAGE PRINTED FROM SCREENS OF THE WEBSITE CONSTITUTES NEITHER A TRAVEL DOCUMENT NOR A BOOKING CONFIRMATION FOR ANY FERRY COMPANY.

1.6. A booking may be made while awaiting the issue of an identity document (identity card or passport) which must, in any case, be communicated before departure. A valid identity document will be requested at boarding from all passengers included in the booking. Without the document, boarding may be refused.

The names on the travellers’ documents must match those indicated on the booking confirmation and therefore on the tickets.

Furthermore, it is the Customer’s obligation to obtain information from the competent Authorities regarding the documents required to travel and the local provisions concerning the stay at the booked destination (restrictions or bans on disembarking and/or on vehicle circulation set out in municipal Ordinances or in the Regulations in force). Traghetti.com will not be liable for failure to meet the requirements set by the local Authorities.

1.7. Should the booking include a vehicle for the carriage of persons – private use, which in fact turns out to be a commercial vehicle, the Ferry Company may request a fare adjustment, require a new booking matching the type of vehicle, or carriage may be refused without any refund.

1.8. Any additional transport item attached to the vehicle (roof box, roof rack, bike rack) must be included in the booking as it is subject to additional charges.

1.9. Travelling with your own pet is permitted by including it in the booking. This may entail an additional cost and require accommodation different from the one selected. Carriage must comply with the legal requirements and with the conditions set by the Company as regards the necessary documents and travel authorisations, and is entirely the Customer’s responsibility.

1.10. Bookings with PRM assistance must be requested by e-mail or by telephone.

1.11. The issue of a new ticket using a VOUCHER obtained as a refund from a Ferry Company will entail a charge of EUR 30.00 for booking fees plus administrative costs.

2. Fares/Timetables

2.1. Ticket prices are the official ones issued by the Ferry Companies and calculated directly by the Companies’ own booking systems. As an agent, Traghetti.com cannot intervene on these fares in any way. Traghetti.com applies a booking fee for each route booked in order to cover the file handling expenses, plus an administrative cost that varies depending on the trend of the costs incurred. The amount will be shown at every stage of the purchase process.

2.2. In the Customer’s interest, Traghetti.com is deemed authorised to apply the best fare available at the time the ticket is issued, even if such application should subsequently make it impossible to amend and/or cancel the ticket.

2.3. The Ferry Companies may change fares at any time and without notice. In such cases the changes will be notified to the Customer by e-mail.

2.4. The booking may require the Customer to travel within specific dates and times. Failure to comply with these may result in boarding being refused by the Company, additional charges being applied, or the booking being cancelled without any right to a refund.

2.5. The Company may change departure times and check-in times, cancel departures or extend the duration of the crossing, as specified in its own terms and conditions. It may also use other departure and/or arrival ports, as well as alternative ships, and modify services for operational or technical reasons. Under no circumstances will Traghetti.com be held liable for any costs or inconvenience caused as a result of such changes by the Company.

3. Payments

3.1. Booking confirmation takes place at the same time as the issue of the travel document, which is subject to receipt of payment; payment may be made by credit or debit card/PayPal/bank transfer or other methods listed on our website.

3.2. Should there be a fare difference between the quoted price and the actual price of no more than 5 Euro due to rounding or tax changes, the ticket will be issued in any case.

3.3. Depending on the Ferry Company selected, on the departure date and/or for security reasons, a link may be sent so that payment can be made independently.

3.4. In the case of payment by bank transfer (bank charges payable by the Customer), a copy of the payment must be forwarded to Traghetti.com by e-mail or WhatsApp for verification, which will be carried out by an operator during our office opening hours.

PLEASE NOTE: the ticket will only be sent once the funds have been credited to our bank account. Please note that within 4 working days of the departure date, bookings may only be made against payment by immediate methods.

4. Amendments and Cancellations

4.1. Any type of amendment or cancellation may only be requested in writing to our e-mail address support@traghetti.com at least 48 hours before departure.

PLEASE NOTE: NO AMENDMENT/CANCELLATION REQUEST MADE BY TELEPHONE WILL BE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION.

4.2. Should an amendment/cancellation request have to be made outside our office hours or on a day when our office is closed, it must be communicated directly to the Ferry Company.

4.3. In the event of an amendment (where permitted by the general conditions of the specific Ferry Companies), 40.00 Euro of agency fees plus administrative costs will be charged in addition to the penalties of the selected Company.

4.4. Cancellation of tickets already issued will only be allowed where permitted by the general conditions of the specific Ferry Companies and will be subject both to the Company’s own penalties and to Traghetti.com’s penalty of 15% of the ticket price (minimum 20.00 Euro).

PLEASE NOTE: special fare tickets may be non-refundable. The Customer must take this into account when requesting a booking and, if necessary, consult customer service to choose a fare with conditions favourable to obtaining a possible refund.

4.5. A cancellation request presupposes knowledge and acceptance of the rules and conditions of carriage of both the Ferry Company and Traghetti.com: it will therefore be processed without any further communication from us other than confirmation of the cancellation, together with the relevant penalties which will be deducted from the refund.

4.6. Failure to use tickets does not give rise to any right to a refund.

4.7. Booking fees, administrative costs and any cancellation guarantee will not be refunded under any circumstances, even following a change of time, date, departure/arrival port or cancellation of the departure by the Ferry Company.

5. Refunds

5.1. Following a refund to a credit card, the time taken to restore the credit limit on the card may vary depending on the relevant Circuit and is at the discretion of the issuing Bank.

5.2. In the event of a payment exceeding the actual cost of the booking (fees included) made by bank transfer, the difference will only be refunded once the payment has been credited to our bank account, within a maximum of 15 working days.

5.3. In the event of cancellation/amendment of the booking, the refund to the Customer will only be made after the Ferry Company has credited the refund to our Agency, a period which may vary from Company to Company.

5.4. The refund will be made using the same method used to pay for the booking, unless otherwise agreed.

6. Cancellation Guarantee

6.1. It is possible to purchase a guarantee against cancellations in order to obtain a refund of the cancellation penalties in the cases provided for by the respective Terms and Conditions.

6.2. The guarantee must be selected and purchased at the same time as the booking. It cannot be added later.

6.3. The guarantee cannot be cancelled after purchase and is non-refundable.

6.4. The full Conditions are available on the Traghetti.com website.
